Gospel Fluency: Speaking the Truths of Jesus into the Everyday Stuff of Life

A much-needed tool for Christian disciples.

Gospel Fluency is built around a great idea to meet a great need. Too many sincere Christians are unable to translate the good news (the gospel) of Jesus Christ into meaningful communication either to themselves or to others. After all, a Christian is one who has been “made new”—transformed into a new creature, as the New Testament puts it (2 Corinthians 5:17). This newness demands a new way of understanding and speaking and thinking and living. Jeff Vanderstelt does a masterful job of guiding Christian believers onto the path of this new life.
Vanderstelt breaks down this task in a manner that is understandable and doable. He lays out the need for the task of teaching fluency in this new existence (chapter 1, Gospel Fluency). He leads along a straightforward track for learning what a Christian believes (chapter 2, The Gospel), how that becomes internalized (chapter 3, The Gospel In Me), the vital necessity of being a member of a community (chapter 4, The Gospel With Us), and the expansive vitality of this new life (chapter 5, The Gospel to Others). He achieves this in a straightforward and understandable way. The style is uncomplicated and the author is transparent, a fellow pilgrim walking the same path.
